Why rE-learning?

E-learning is a field fast growing, still to catch up in India.
There’s a reason for this blog to be titled 'rE-learning'.
While I was thinking about a name for my blog I knew it had to be related to learning. The word e-learning was doing the rounds in my mind, but then again it had to sound different, so I placed an ‘r’ in front of it, now now, it wasn’t done just for the sake of it. I had a question in mind about the present generation, which is pretty much used to the F2F concept of learning (keeping in mind the current educational scenario in our country).
I just thought that if they were to go through an e-learning experience, how much of preparation would it require both for the learners as well as the facilitators? Or let’s say how much would they need to re-learn both in terms of technology and the strategies?
There are so many aspects to e-learning that are quite different from the F2F situation. For one that you may never meet your classmates or moderators, you don’t have the advantage of monitoring your learners as in an F2F situation. The level of motivation of students, interest and environment created by the content all make a difference to e-learning. It is up to us to take up this new invention of technology and education and put it to the best of its use.
E-learning is opening up new avenues for the coming generation but are we ready to learn…or rather rE-learn?

All comments on this post are sincerely invited. This thought just scurried through my mind, I may be wrong and I am waiting to be corrected if that’s the case.
